On Sunday, December 3rd, West End Phoenix and Ontario Place for All are joining forces once again to organize, educate and rally as we continue our fight for the future of Ontario Place!
The Ford Government intends to turn over a sizeable portion of park space, cutting down over 1500 trees and destroying the beloved waterfront park in favour of a massive, unwieldly and unnecessary mega spa. This project, massive in scope and destruction, will also leave Ontario taxpayers footing the bill, with subsidies that could reach up to $650 million.
We say NO! and we know a lot of you share this sentiment with us!
To that end, we are hosting a live telethon from noon until 6 PM at our space at 3 Bartlett Ave, with a revolving cast of favourites including Sarah Harmer, Kevin Hearn, Jason Collett, Rheostatics, and many more alongside the WEP house band: Goodtimes — Badtimes. All that plus arborists, ornithologists and architects on the value of preserving Ontario Place!
Drop in and send the Ford government a message:
NO PRIVATE SPA ON PUBLIC LAND, NO CUTTING DOWN TREES, NO 95 YEAR LEASE, AND NO 600 MILLION DOLLAR PLUS PARKING GARAGE!
This event will be FREE for anyone wishing to attend, and donations to Ontario Place for All are welcome.
Coffee available onsite from Brockton Haunt!
Drop in, say hello, learn more about what is happening, what you can do, and what the future of Ontario Place looks like for all of us!
If you cannot attend in person, there will also be a livestream you can watch! It’s all hapenning on YouTube, just follow the link: https://youtube.com/live/dXXKD4iDm5Q
